/// 23
Reporting Abuse and Security Issues
Suspected misuse of the Services, security vulnerabilities, security incidents, legal notices, and privacy matters may all be reported to hello@pro.works. Please mark the subject line clearly — for example “Abuse report”, “Security report”, “Legal notice”, or “Privacy request” — so the message reaches the right team quickly. Where applicable, product-specific abuse reporting procedures may also be provided.
Information required in an abuse report
To help ProWorks investigate, please provide reasonably available information such as:
- the affected domain or resource;
- the relevant URL;
- an account or transaction identifier where known;
- date and time;
- a description of the suspected abuse;
- evidence, including supporting screenshots or logs; and
- contact information.
Do not submit passwords, private keys, or unnecessary sensitive personal information.
Reporting security incidents
If you believe your ProWorks account or infrastructure has been compromised, contact hello@pro.works as soon as reasonably possible and include enough information to help identify the affected resource. Do not publicly disclose sensitive credentials or security information.
False abuse reports
You must not intentionally submit materially false or fraudulent abuse reports for the purpose of harming another user, disrupting a legitimate website, interfering with a domain, removing legitimate content, obtaining control over an asset, or abusing ProWorks enforcement procedures. Good-faith reports do not violate this section merely because a report ultimately proves incorrect.
/// 24
Investigation of Abuse
ProWorks may investigate suspected violations of this AUP. An investigation may include reviewing:
- account information;
- security logs and network information;
- transactions and infrastructure activity;
- abuse reports and technical data;
- domain information and API activity; and
- other relevant information,
to the extent permitted by applicable law and the Pro.Works Privacy Policy.
/// 25
Enforcement
If ProWorks reasonably determines that use of the Services violates this AUP, it may take appropriate action. Depending on the severity and circumstances, action may include:
- issuing a warning or requesting corrective action;
- restricting functionality or disabling specific resources;
- rate limiting or blocking traffic;
- suspending Services or an account;
- removing content or disabling integrations;
- stopping transactions;
- terminating access; or
- taking other reasonable protective measures.
Immediate action
ProWorks may act without prior notice where it reasonably believes immediate action is necessary to:
- stop an active cyberattack;
- prevent fraud or mitigate phishing;
- stop malware distribution;
- prevent imminent harm and protect users or infrastructure;
- comply with law or lawful orders;
- address sanctions requirements; or
- respond to other urgent abuse.
Where appropriate and legally permitted, ProWorks may provide notice after taking emergency action.
Suspension
A Service may be temporarily suspended while ProWorks investigates suspected security compromise, fraudulent transactions, identity issues, unlawful activity, infrastructure abuse, domain abuse, payment abuse, or other serious violations. Suspension does not necessarily imply a final determination that a violation occurred.
Repeated violations
Repeated or systematic violations may result in stronger enforcement, including permanent termination of Services. ProWorks may consider severity, frequency, intent, harm, previous warnings, remediation efforts, and cooperation.
/// 26
Legal Requests, Evidence, and Cooperation
ProWorks may preserve or disclose information where required or permitted by applicable law, including in response to court orders, subpoenas, warrants, legally valid government requests, regulatory obligations, emergency circumstances, or other lawful processes. ProWorks may maintain separate law-enforcement guidelines.
Where appropriate and legally permitted, ProWorks may preserve relevant information concerning suspected fraud, security incidents, cybercrime, domain abuse, payment abuse, legal violations, or other serious misconduct. Preservation does not mean ProWorks has concluded that unlawful activity occurred.
Where appropriate, ProWorks may coordinate with:
- registries and registrars;
- hosting providers and network operators;
- payment providers and financial institutions;
- cybersecurity organizations;
- law-enforcement agencies and regulators; or
- other relevant entities,
to investigate or mitigate abuse. Any such cooperation is subject to applicable law and contractual obligations.
/// 27
Security Research and Good-Faith Activity
ProWorks supports legitimate security research conducted responsibly. Security researchers must not:
- intentionally access unnecessary personal information;
- damage systems or disrupt Services;
- alter user data;
- extort ProWorks;
- irresponsibly disclose unresolved critical vulnerabilities publicly; or
- use discovered vulnerabilities for unlawful purposes.
ProWorks may publish a separate vulnerability disclosure policy specifying permitted research.
This AUP is not intended to prohibit lawful, good-faith:
- cybersecurity research and authorized penetration testing;
- network administration and threat intelligence;
- malware analysis and academic research;
- journalism and law enforcement;
- security education and content moderation; or
- anti-fraud and defensive security work.
Authorization and applicable law remain important.
/// 28
Context Matters
ProWorks evaluates suspected abuse based on relevant context. A particular technology may have both legitimate and abusive uses. For example:
- port scanning may be legitimate on systems you own;
- malware samples may be legitimately stored by security researchers;
- automated crawling may be legitimate when authorized;
- domain monitoring may legitimately resemble automated reconnaissance; and
- AI security analysis may involve potentially dangerous technical content.
ProWorks may consider the apparent purpose, authorization, safeguards, and surrounding circumstances when evaluating activity.
/// 29
Product-Specific Policies
Individual ProWorks products may impose additional acceptable-use requirements.
- Work Domains — additional domain registration, registrant, registry, ICANN, and abuse requirements.
- Domain Work — additional restrictions relating to registrar connections, credentials, automation, and domain administration.
- DNS Care — additional DNS, network, zone-management, and infrastructure-security requirements.
- Server Storage — additional server, storage, compute, resource, network, and infrastructure restrictions.
- Buy/Sale — additional marketplace, seller, buyer, asset, transaction, and verification rules.
- Buy/Auction — additional bidder, seller, auction-integrity, and transaction rules.
- PayQuest — additional payment, fraud, financial-crime, merchant, and transaction requirements.
- PostCare — additional support, customer-data, service-provider, and communications requirements.
Where a product policy is more restrictive concerning a particular Service, the product policy applies to that Service.
/// 30
Third-Party and Internet Governance Policies
Some ProWorks Services rely upon third-party:
- registries;
- cloud providers and hosting companies;
- payment processors and financial institutions;
- storage providers and networks;
- identity providers; or
- other infrastructure.
Your use may also be subject to applicable third-party acceptable-use policies. Activity that causes ProWorks to violate a material third-party infrastructure requirement may require ProWorks to restrict the relevant activity.
Domain-related Services may be subject to requirements established by ICANN, domain registries, registrar agreements, TLD operators, dispute-resolution providers, and other internet-governance bodies. Users of applicable Services must comply with legally and contractually applicable requirements.
/// 31
Monitoring and Automated Enforcement
ProWorks does not undertake a general obligation to proactively monitor every user’s content, domain, transaction, server, or activity unless applicable law requires otherwise. However, ProWorks may use automated detection, security monitoring, abuse signals, fraud detection, risk scoring, user reports, third-party intelligence, and manual review to identify potential violations.
ProWorks may use automated systems to detect:
- malware, phishing, and spam;
- fraud and suspicious transactions;
- abusive traffic and automated attacks;
- account compromise; or
- other security risks.
Where appropriate, automated signals may be reviewed by human personnel before significant enforcement actions. Urgent security threats may require automated defensive action.
/// 32
Appeals and Restoration
Where ProWorks provides an appeal mechanism, users may request review of certain enforcement decisions. An appeal should provide:
- relevant account or resource information;
- an explanation of why the action should be reconsidered;
- supporting evidence; and
- remediation already performed.
ProWorks does not guarantee reversal of an enforcement decision.
Following suspension or restriction, ProWorks may require remediation before restoring access, which may include:
- removing malicious content;
- securing compromised credentials and updating software;
- verifying identity;
- correcting DNS configuration;
- terminating abusive users;
- providing proof of asset ownership;
- resolving payment issues; or
- implementing other appropriate safeguards.
/// 33
Privacy Policy and Terms of Service
ProWorks’ handling of personal information in connection with abuse prevention and enforcement is governed by the Pro.Works Privacy Policy, available at https://pro.works/privacy.
This AUP forms part of the Pro.Works Terms of Service, available at https://pro.works/terms. If these documents conflict concerning acceptable use, this AUP controls regarding prohibited or restricted conduct unless applicable Product Terms provide a more specific requirement.
/// 34
Changes to This Policy
ProWorks may update this AUP to address:
- new Services and new technologies;
- emerging forms of abuse;
- regulatory changes;
- cybersecurity developments;
- operational requirements; or
- changes to ProWorks products.
The current version will be published at https://pro.works/acceptable-use. The “Last Updated” date indicates the latest revision. Material changes may be communicated where appropriate or legally required.
/// 35
Enforcement Discretion and No Waiver
ProWorks may exercise reasonable judgment when applying this AUP. Not every potential violation requires the same response. ProWorks may consider severity, intent, scale, harm, recurrence, legal requirements, security urgency, customer cooperation, corrective action, and risks to third parties.
Nothing in this section requires ProWorks to tolerate unlawful or materially harmful activity.
Failure by ProWorks to enforce this AUP in a particular instance does not waive its right to enforce this AUP in the future.
